Debate Practices & Judging
We will be practicing on Tuesdays only for the time being due to the endless distractions plaguing attendence (soccer, golf, field hockey, football, groundations, appointments, drivers ed...). If anyone needs extra work time, we will go on a week by week basis deciding on each Tuesday when to meet next. Remember that practice starts at 2:30 this year. Be prompt.
We need to get newbies up to snuff if we want to go to the Novice Tourney on Oct. 14. That isn't looking so good at the moment. We may have to skip it this year. Josh and Coty have been good about being around each practice, but they aren't the ones who need to get to work. I have a pile of manuals and forms for people who haven't shown up yet but insist that they are on the team.
I have given judging manuals to the other social studies teachers and Mr. Hart because they showed more interest than usual. Feel free to ask these folks to judge because by bugging them we may get them to commit to judging this year. Mr. Hart will do one tourney for sure. Anyone care to ask Dr. Ward? We could use some administrators to spread the word to other schools so we can have scrimmages nearby. Anyone doing PF this year?
Mr. C
