Proposed Schedule & Misc.
Below I've pasted the tentative schedule for the year. Keep in mind that this is what the coaches will finalize on this coming Friday at CMCC. It could change a bit but generally the big repeat tourneys stay the same. I believe we will be joining the CFL this year so there's another one. Anyone who can do speech too can get to as many as 14 tournaments if the weather cooperates! Now there's some NFL points!
First practice is at 2:30 on Tuesday 9/12. Most Tuesdays and Thursdays from then on with the usual expansion on tournament weeks. Speech will eventually back off to just Tuesdays.
This year, in order to participate in a tournament, your debate constructives or speeches must be heard prior to registration! Yes you can change them afterwards, but the team must hear you once before you can register. Registration is always final on Tuesday before a tourney. Few exceptions will be allowed (medical reasons might work).
We have few judges. Bug your favorite teachers, relatives and anyone else who's been out of HS a while. Bring one and you guarantee a slot at a tournament. Bring one and you win major brownie points, not to mention everlasting adoration from the entire team.
See you soon.

According to a definition of judging requirements I heard at the coaches meeting on Sept. 8th, all agreed that any former student can judge novice only their first year out after graduation. Anything goes on the second year out. The Novice Tourney listed as Oct.14 may be moved to Erskine Academy (S.China). We'd love to have you along.
