This is going into the notices:


"A small group from the Dirigo Debate Team showed that quality is more important than quantity at the Maranacook Speech and Debate Tournament on Saturday. Emily Ray finished with a 2-2 record in her first JV debate attempt. Meghan Beale and Dylan Hebert also finished with a 2-2 record in their first attempt at team debate and in the varsity category. To cap it all off BJ McCollister finally earned a well deserved first place in varsity debate with a 4-0 record. Nice job guys!"

As a side note, not put in the notices, BJ's "secret weapon" seemed to make a difference. Apparently he was the only one in the league who had one. Of course he'll have to come up with a new one now that the secret is out. That's "initiative". You want people to react to you, not the other way around. I was totally impressed with the 2-2's as well. Not bad for moving up!

For the record Josh Johnston judged and I was in tab. I will be in Tab at Cape too.
