Here is what I put in the Monday morning notices and the information team members need to know for upcoming CFL's from First Class:

With CFL's on Wednesday, speech and debate practice is on Monday and Tuesday this week. Coach Sirois wil cover debate on Tuesday. We'll leave for the bus at 1:40 on Wednesday so make sure you have a pre-approved absence sheet filled out (I have copies). Remember that we can only take competitors on the bus, but spectators can take themselves to Poland HS if they wish.

Here is what I put in the notices:

"The Dirigo Speech and Debate Team had a great day at the Maine District Qualifier's at Maranacook High School on Saturday. In Speech, Chelsea Bernard finished 5th in the finals of Humorous Interpretation. In double elimination debate competition, Dirigo was represented in all remaining brackets of the 5th round by Emily Ray, Mike Dunn and BJ McCollister, a rare accomplishment by any school. The ultimate achievement of the day however was by BJ McCollister who earned first place. This makes BJ Maine's only Lincoln-Douglas Debate representative at the NFL Nationals in Las Vegas next June. His second trip. Special thanks from the team to Mr. Knowlton, Faye Knowlton, Ben McCollister and Gerry Dunn for judging on this long day. "

One must remember that starting this year, Maine can only send one qualifier in each event to NFL's. CFL's still get two.
